My Solar-Powered Garden Lights/Ornaments
Each of my solar-powered garden lights has one or more hand-blown glass tops which are attached to a solar-powered stake with LED lights indide the glass.
The solar panel soaks up the sunlight during the day and recharges the battery so that the LED can glow after dusk for up to 10 hours (depending upon how much sunlight it got during that day).
I believe I'm the only US glass blower making solar-powered garden ornaments like these. To enhance their sparkle, I add tiny air bubbles and deep ribbing to the glass. I use pure metal oxides to permanently color the glass so it will never fade in the sunlight.
I have designed these for year-around outdoor use. The rechargeable AA battery generally needs to be changed every two years. The high-quality LED light bulb will last for more than ten years.
Below are day/night photos of some of my garden lights. As you can see, they come in many different colors and shapes.
These are available at my shows and on my Etsy site.
